Students Referred to a Dentist with Urgent or Emergent Needs

Measurement Period: 2023-2024
The percentage of students served by Bridging Brighter Smiles that were referred to a dentist for urgent or emergent needs, requiring immediate services that must be provided to relieve the student from pain, an acute infection, swelling, trismus, fever, or trauma.

Why is this important?

Bridging Brighter Smiles provides quality preventative dental care for students 4K-12th grade. Treatment is performed in schools, during the school day throughout the school year. Services include oral screening, dental cleaning, fluoride varnish, dental sealants, dental health education, and referral assistance. Preventative care through Bridging Brighter Smiles is covered for students with the Forward Health (BadgerCare) Card. Private or no dental insurance participants can receive preventative care based on a sliding fee scale. All participants must have parental/legal guardian consent forms signed in order to receive services.
